Dean Li rappels down downtown building for Big Brothers Big Sisters

Raj Soin College of Business Dean Joanne Li raised money for Big Brothers Big Sisters by rappelling from Dayton's KeyBank building.

Raj Soin College of Business Dean Joanne Li crossed off one item on her bucket list—while raising money for the Big Brothers Big Sisters—when she rappelled from the 28th floor of KeyBank building in downtown Dayton.

Li was a Big Sister when she was in college. “I understand the importance of mentoring smaller children and the impact that this kind of funding has for little kids,” she said.

Though she has a fear of heights, Li said, “I was not scared until they told me to stand up straight at the very edge of the building. I was determined to conquer my fear—and jumped out screaming on behalf of Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University, I am doing this!”

Li’s husband, Frank, daughter, Nicole, and her parents from Hong Kong were among the spectators watching the rappellers. They thought “we were out of our minds,” Li said.
