Holidays in the Heartland has been a Miami Valley tradition for over 15 years.

The Wright State music department is gearing up for one of its most popular concerts. Come celebrate the holidays with an evening of seasonal and patriotic favorites.

Holidays in the Heartland will be presented at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6 at the Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center in downtown Dayton.

Holidays in the Heartland has been a Miami Valley tradition for over 15 years. With its unique blend of holiday music and patriotic tunes, this moving and joyful concert is not to be missed.

“This concert is always one of the highlights of our year, for our performers and the audience alike,” said Hank Dahlman, Wright State director of choral studies and artistic director for Holidays in the Heartland.

Wright State’s nationally recognized choirs will be joined by the Wright State Chamber Orchestra and the Cappella Choir of the Kettering Children’s Choir. Guest performers include Shaun Yu of Dayton Public Radio and Major Michael Mench, commander/conductor of the USAF Band of Flight from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.

The concert will pay special tribute to members of our armed forces with the service songs of each military branch.

“We’re really looking forward to this year’s event,” said Dahlman. “It’s chock full of great music and features some really cool new surprises.”

Tickets ($12 for adults; $10 for students, seniors, veterans and active military) are available at Ticket Center Stage by calling (937) 228-3630 or by visiting www.ticketcenterstage.com.

Holidays in the Heartland is presented through Collaborative Education, Leadership and Innovation in the Arts (CELIA), an Ohio Center of Excellence at Wright State University. It is sponsored by Dayton Public Radio.
