April Craze provides students a chance to dance their cares away for finals.

For some, April Craze is a time to play carnival games and have contests with friends. For others, it’s a way to dance their cares away and enjoy delicious summertime food. But for all, it marks the end of the Spring Semester and a time to unwind with friends.

“It’s going to be bigger and better than ever before,” said Kyrsten Dysart, president of the University Activities Board (UAB), the organization hosting the event. “This year students can be prepared for a number of inflatables and games, free food and food vendors, henna, photo booth, prizes and much, much more.”

April Craze will be held on Wright State’s North Lawn on Friday, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In the event of rain, festivities will relocate to the Student Union.

“April Craze is one giant celebration honoring all of us as a part of the Wright State community,” said Dysart. “A time to hang out with friends, check out potential ways to get involved at Wright State and ultimately make memories.”

This year’s event marks the third anniversary of April Craze, which replaced the former end-of-the-quarter event May Daze in 2012. It has continued to be one of the most widely celebrated events at Wright State.

“The transition from May Daze to April Craze was a bittersweet one, but it allowed for UAB to revamp that beloved tradition into something new and exciting,” said Dysart.

April Craze is also a way for students to get involved on campus. The event gives students a chance to learn more about student organizations, educational opportunities at Wright State and services campus departments have to offer.

“UAB’s hope is that April Craze represents what every member of the Wright State community wants in a celebration,” said Dysart. “There are definitely going to be some surprises at this year’s April Craze.”
