Wright State accountancy programs recognized nationally

Raj Soin College of Business logoWright State University’s accountancy program was recently ranked among the top programs by its peers and named one of the most affordable programs in the nation.

Among schools with 15 or fewer faculty, Wright State’s undergraduate program in accounting was ranked 10th in the country and the master’s program was ranked 18th by the Public Accounting Report’s 32nd Annual Professors Survey.

The Public Accounting Report’s Professors Survey is an annual ranking of the best accounting programs at U.S. colleges and universities based on the opinions of accounting professors and published accounting department faculty data. This year’s report is based on a survey conducted in April and May 2014.

Wright State’s accountancy program was also named one of the most affordable residential U.S. undergraduate accounting programs for 2014 by Accounting Degree Review.

A top resource for accounting education and related topics, Accounting Degree Review ranked the top 30 most affordable schools based on annual tuition and fees for out-of-state incoming freshmen enrolling in the 2014–15 academic year.

The review included the 170 U.S. institutions with accounting accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, the premier business education accrediting agency.

Wright State’s Department of Accountancy offers a Bachelor of Science in business with a major in accountancy and Master of Accountancy.

The accountancy program has won the Institute for Management Accountants Student Case Competition five times and is the only program to place two teams in the same year in the national level of the competition.

Wright State’s Raj Soin College of Business has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a top 258 business school in the nation. The Princeton Review has included the M.B.A. program in its Best 296 Business Schools in the nation, while the part-time M.B.A. program is ranked by Bloomberg BusinessWeek among the top programs in the nation.

Wright State is the only university in the nation to qualify for the Institute for Management Accountant’s final four national case competition for 15 years and the only university to qualify two teams for the final three times and win two first places in the same year.
