Collins, the council\u2019s executive director. \u201cThese awards honor the outstanding accomplishments of Ohio artists, who we are proud to support as they continue to shape creative conversations in our state through their work in and mastery of their chosen disciplines and crafts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Ohio Arts Council was created in 1965 to further develop the arts and cultural heritage in the state through recognition and funding.<\/p>\n<p>Awards were given to artists who specialized in crafts, design, interdisciplinary arts, media arts, photography, visual arts 2D and visual arts 3D. Both Rante and Long were honored for visual arts 2D.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/Daniellerante\/\">Danielle Rante<\/a>, associate professor in printmaking and drawing, works primarily with paper to create large installations as well as delicate drawings and prints.<\/p>\n<p>She joined the faculty at Wright State in 2009 as an assistant professor. Previously she held positions at Herron School of Art in Indianapolis and the Columbus College of Art and Design.<\/p>\n<p>Rante earned her bachelor\u2019s degree from the University of Toledo and her master\u2019s degree and Master of Fine Arts from the University of Iowa. She has actively exhibited her work at national and international venues, including the International Print Center New York, China Sanbao Printmaking Exhibition, Hartnett Gallery at the University of Rochester, New York, and the Hudson D. Walker Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_100779\" style=\"width: 470px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2021\/02\/01\/wright-state-art-faculty-danielle-rante-and-jeremy-long-win-prestigious-awards-from-ohio-arts-council\/eremy-long-figure-group-with-still-life\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-100779\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-100779\" class=\"size-large wp-image-100779\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2021\/02\/eremy-Long-Figure-group-with-still-life-508x404.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-100779\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;Figure group with still life&#8221; 2020, oil on canvas, by Jeremy Long, associate professor in painting and drawing.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jeremylongart.com\/\">Jeremy Long<\/a>, associate professor in painting and drawing, earned his bachelor\u2019s degree from The Kansas City Art Institute and his master\u2019s degree from The American University in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n<p>He has exhibited widely throughout the United States, most recently at The Bowery Gallery in New York City. He has also exhibited at Hoffman LaChance Contemporary in St. Louis, Linda Warren Gallery in Chicago and the Swope Museum of American Art in Terre Haute, Indiana.
