A few days after the Wright State women\u2019s basketball team\u2019s historic season came to an end as the 13-seeded Raiders advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in San Antonio, they gathered to capture their experience digitally.<\/p>\n
On March 23, the team and coaching staff posed for pictures with the Horizon League Championship Trophy in the Setzer Pavilion.<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving pictures today was important,\u201d said Angel Baker, junior guard and the 2021 Horizon League Tournament MVP. \u201cIt was a nice way to just soak it all in.\u201d<\/p>\n
Picture Day was originally scheduled for last fall but due to COVID-19 restrictions, the team pictures were canceled.<\/p>\n
\u201cFinally we get to wear our all-black outfits and get dressed up,\u201d said Tyler Frierson, senior center who was named to the Horizon League All-Defensive Team. \u201cThis year is new because we get to wear our championship gear and plus the trophy too.\u201d<\/p>\n
Frierson shared that support from the community has been tremendous during their challenging but remarkable season, she hopes the enthusiasm continues next season.<\/p>\n
\u201cNext year when we can finally have fans we\u2019ll get more people there to finally realize that the women\u2019s team is special,\u201d said Frierson.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
