The Wright State students participated in the online conference from March 28\u201331 from the Student Success Center on the Dayton Campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe team of 15 students all put in great effort that is required to win the overall delegation award,\u201d said Vaughn Shannon, professor of political science and co-advisor to the delegation along with Liam Anderson, professor of political science.<\/p>\n<p>It was the 41st consecutive year of Wright State participation in the conference that the university received a delegation award.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the team represented the United Kingdom at the conference and received an online mission briefing by a member of the UK Mission to the United Nations.<\/p>\n<p>The Model UN is a conference similar to that of the United Nations in which students participate as delegates to various UN committees. The participants research and formulate political positions based on the actual policies of the countries they represent.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2021\/04\/05\/wright-state-named-outstanding-delegation-at-2021-national-model-united-nations-conference\/56603-jim-hannah-virtural-model-un-3-29-21-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-104007\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-104007\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2021\/04\/Model-UN-56603_005-218x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"218\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>At Wright State, preparation for the conference involves more than just writing papers and learning a country\u2019s national policy.
