They are asked to donate at least $5.<\/p>\n<p>Organized by Wright State Campus Recreation, the Driveway 5K promotes physical wellness and social distancing while raising funds for Wright State&#8217;s Student Emergency Fund. The fund provides financial assistance to Wright State students who are facing critical needs.<\/p>\n<p>Participants are encouraged to show their Raider spirit by wearing Wright State colors and posting photos or videos of their workouts on social media.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wright.edu\/student-affairs\/health-and-wellness\/campus-recreation\">Wright State Campus Recreation<\/a> will award prizes for the most creative course, shortest distance course and the most money raised by a participant.<\/p>\n<p>Last year&#8217;s Driveway 5K attracted 150 alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends from 11 different states, raising $3,733 for the Katie Deedrick Student Support Fund.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was completely overwhelmed with the amount of participation from our community,\u201d said Erin Sherrets, manager of the Outdoor Recreation Program. \u201cIt just goes to show what a supportive and caring community we have here at Wright State.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During last year\u2019s event, Sherrets took the Driveway 5K challenge literally, completing her workout in her driveway in 275 laps.
