{"id":104956,"date":"2021-04-19T14:46:53","date_gmt":"2021-04-19T18:46:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=104956"},"modified":"2021-04-20T15:34:28","modified_gmt":"2021-04-20T19:34:28","slug":"movie-night","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2021\/04\/19\/movie-night\/","title":{"rendered":"Movie night"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>This year\u2019s eighth annual Raiderthon wasn\u2019t the typical 15-hour dance marathon celebration because of campus health and safety restrictions due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Instead, the event featured only a few minutes of dancing, and the main attraction was a drive-in movie screening of \u201cInside Out\u201d in Lot 4 just footsteps from the Student Union.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cI love that we are doing something to help local kids,\u201d said Amber Barga, moral chair of Raiderthon.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Moviegoers enjoyed a raffle, games and snacks and had the opportunity to learn a quick dance with the Morale Dance Team. Students chose Disney\u2019s \u201cInside Out\u201d because of the movie\u2019s important messaging about mental health issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>This year&#8217;s fundraising efforts will support a new outpatient mental health facility at the Dayton Children\u2019s campus.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Raiderthon is organized by Miracle Makers, a Wright State student philanthropic organization.
