Keaton Norris, CJ Wilbourn, AJ Braun and Riley Voss have only been on Wright State University\u2019s campus since late June but they are quickly finding their footing while adding depth to the Raiders\u2019 roster.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love the atmosphere here,\u201d said Wilbourn, a junior transfer from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. \u201cThe players have done a great job welcoming me in and making me feel like family.\u201d<\/p>\n
The\u00a0men\u2019s basketball team<\/a>\u00a0has been working out four days a week and lifting weights to prepare for the 2021-2022 season.<\/p>\n \u201cThis year I feel like we have a lot of good shooters,\u201d said Tanner Holden, a sophomore guard. \u201cThat\u2019ll be a huge advantage for us this season.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone\u2019s tight-knit, we get along really well,\u201d said Riley Voss, a senior transfer from Cornell University.<\/p>\n Braun, a 6\u20199\u201d freshman, grew up in Springboro and attended Raider basketball games as a kid. \u201cIt took a little bit to really hit me that I\u2019m a college athlete here now,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m grateful for the experience.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m so thankful for this opportunity,\u201d said Norris, a freshman guard from Hilliard, Ohio. \u201cI just can\u2019t wait to get in the Nutter and play.\u201d<\/p>\n The four new additions will increase competition on the team, but head coach Scott Nagy is prioritizing team-first a mentality. \u201cEvery single guy that we have on this team is working hard to make the team first and that\u2019s fun to be a part of,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n The men’s basketball team promoted longtime assistant Clint Sargent to associate head coach during the off-season and added two assistant coaches,\u00a0Dan Ber\u00e9 from Jacksonville University and Travis Trice from Wayne High School in Huber Heights.<\/p>\n The summer workouts conclude on July 29.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The\u00a0men\u2019s basketball team\u00a0has been working out four days a week and lifting weights to prepare for the 2021-2022 season.
