The Wright State University chapter of the Delta Zeta sorority is getting ready to crown the king of the Raiders. Every year, Delta Zeta hosts the Mr. WSU pageant, a benefit for charity and a roaring good time.<\/p>\n
This is the 10th year Delta Zeta has put on the pageant. This year, the theme will be \u201cCrowning Kings for a Decade.\u201d<\/p>\n
The event is Friday, March 2. Doors open at 6 p.m. in the Student Union Apollo Room. The event begins at 6:30 and is expected to conclude around 10 p.m.<\/p>\n
The pageant consists of several rounds that include interviews and contestants in business attire and athletic wear. By far, the most popular portion of the evening is the talent competition, when contestants don costumes, pick up guitars and put on their dancing shoes.<\/p>\n
Last year, winner Kyle Henneke (Mr. Theta Phi Alpha) stole the show with his flashy choreography to Lady GaGa\u2019s \u201cBad Romance.\u201d<\/p>\n
The winner of Mr. WSU receives half a quarter\u2019s tuition, and is eligible to judge the competition the following year.<\/p>\n
Advance tickets are on sale this week for $5. They will be $8 at the door. Profits from the sale of tickets will go to The Starky Hearing Foundation and The House Research Institute and the Painted Turtle Camp, one of Paul Newman\u2019s Hole in the Wall Camps for seriously ill children.<\/p>\n
Last year, the Mr. WSU pageant raised $2,000 for designated charities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
