An influx of students needing food assistance this semester has caused the pantry\u2019s food supply to dwindle, so the pantry is asking for your help.<\/p>\n<p>Donations can be dropped off at the Raider Food Pantry at\u00a0055 Student Union weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. You can also donate items from the food pantry&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/hz\/wishlist\/ls\/1KUR5JCPRIVLO?ref_=wl_share\">Amazon wish list<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Several Wright State organizations recently dropped off needed food and supplies to the pantry.<\/p>\n<p>The Residential Community Association donated canned goods collected from students who participated in its \u201cNightmare on Springwood Lane\u201d Halloween event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been waiting on this because we desperately needed some can goods,\u201d said Tylar O\u2019Neal-White, student advocate and case manager in the Office of Student Advocacy and Wellness and manager of the Raider Food Pantry. \u201cOur students are really helpful and grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For the third consecutive year, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wright.edu\/police\">Wright State University Police Department<\/a>\u00a0participated in No-Shave November and officers\u2019 follicle neglect benefited the Raider Food Pantry.<\/p>\n<p>On Nov. 23, officers filled up their cruisers with items purchased from Sam\u2019s Club in Beavercreek, then donated to the pantry almost $1,700 of nonperishable food items and toiletries, including chicken noodle soup, cereal, peanut butter crackers and much-needed water and toilet paper.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year we had the entire department involved,\u201d said Kurt Holden, interim director of public safety. \u201cAnswering the need in our community is what we do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Wright State Police Department has donated $3,200 in groceries to the Raider Food Pantry over the past three years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are really thankful for the support,\u201d said O\u2019Neal-White. \u201cBeing able to be that resource for students is really nice.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Raider Food Pantry is hosting a Holiday Food Drive to collect donations during November. <a href=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2021\/11\/23\/answering-the-call\/\" class=\"morelink\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":51,"featured_media":115966,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[729,2025,725,727,715,4847,4293,720],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-115958","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-around-campus","category-community-service","category-home-news-sidebar","category-homepage-photos-and-video","category-news","category-public-safety","category-student-union","category-video"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/115958","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/51"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=115958"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/115958\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":115982,"href":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/115958\/revisions\/115982"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/115966"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=115958"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=115958"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=115958"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
