{"id":116099,"date":"2021-11-30T09:19:24","date_gmt":"2021-11-30T14:19:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=116099"},"modified":"2021-11-30T09:19:48","modified_gmt":"2021-11-30T14:19:48","slug":"daniela-burnworth-honored-with-prestigious-national-psychology-training-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2021\/11\/30\/daniela-burnworth-honored-with-prestigious-national-psychology-training-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Daniela Burnworth honored with prestigious national psychology training award"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_116111\" style=\"width: 470px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2021\/11\/30\/daniela-burnworth-honored-with-prestigious-national-psychology-training-award\/58937-jim-hannah-daniela-burnworth-counseling-and-wellness-10-21-21-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-116111\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-116111\" class=\"size-large wp-image-116111\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2021\/11\/Daniela-Burnworth-58937_005-508x352.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"319\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-116111\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Daniela Burnworth, associate director of Counseling and Wellness Services, received the Helen Roehlke Award from the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Daniela Burnworth, Ph.D., associate director of Wright State University\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wright.edu\/student-affairs\/health-and-wellness\/counseling-and-wellness\">Counseling and Wellness Services<\/a>, received a prestigious national award from the Association of Counseling Center Training Agencies (ACCTA).<\/p>\n<p>Burnworth received the Helen Roehlke Award \u2014 ACCTA\u2019s highest honor \u2014 at the association&#8217;s annual meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDr. Burnworth is an outstanding director of clinical training and has dedicated herself to professional service,\u201d said Robert Rando, Ph.D., director of Counseling and Wellness Services. \u201cHer receipt of ACCTA\u2019s highest honor is a fitting recognition of her status as a national leader in psychology training.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>ACCTA<\/em> promotes excellence in doctoral psychology internship training within university and college counseling centers. It represents one of the largest single training settings for American Psychological Association-accredited internships in the nation, with 184 members who administrate sites offering more than 500 doctoral internship slots in psychology.<\/p>\n<p>The Helen Roehlke Award was established in 2000 to honor members who exemplify the spirit of ACCTA by their unwavering enthusiasm, commitment, support and overall service to the organization.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy involvement in overseeing the training of mental health professionals is a career highlight for me and an incredibly special part of my job,\u201d said Burnworth. \u201cBeing part of ACCTA has been deeply meaningful, professionally and personally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Burnworth began working at Wright State in 2005 and became associate director of Counseling and Wellness Services in 2007.
