{"id":116297,"date":"2021-12-07T08:51:51","date_gmt":"2021-12-07T13:51:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=116297"},"modified":"2022-09-29T11:21:44","modified_gmt":"2022-09-29T15:21:44","slug":"bbq-discovery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2021\/12\/07\/bbq-discovery\/","title":{"rendered":"BBQ discovery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wright State University students wrote, shot, directed and edited a 30-second commercial for Mutts Sauce, a Dayton multipurpose sauce company that recently acquired advertising time on the Discovery Channel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a pretty amazing thing for some students,\u201d said Jeremy Bolden, instructor of <a href=\"https:\/\/liberal-arts.wright.edu\/theatre-dance-and-motion-pictures\/bachelor-of-arts-or-bachelor-of-fine-arts-in-motion-pictures\">motion picture production<\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s pretty amazing for anybody really to work on a commercial that airs nationally.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The commercial aired on Nov. 11 at 8:15 a.m. during \u201cOperation Hidden Treasures\u201d on the Discovery Channel. The show follows U.S. military veterans as they find and repurpose unused items for people in need.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_116337\" style=\"width: 210px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-116337\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-116337\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2021\/12\/Harris_Placing2-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-116337\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wright State motion pictures student Harris Norton stages a Mutt&#8217;s Sauce bottle during the commercial shoot.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The commercial was produced in collaboration with the <a href=\"https:\/\/liberal-arts.wright.edu\/about\/new-media-incubator\">New Media Incubator<\/a> at Wright State. The students only had four days to produce the commercial and send it to the Discovery Channel.<\/p>\n<p>The time crunch wasn\u2019t a problem for the production crew, said Bolden. \u201cThe students just went to\u00a0work,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>On the first day, the students finalized the script. On the second day, they recorded the voiceover.
