This summer, major changes to the 40-year-old federal Pell grant program will impact an estimated 145,000 low-income college students nationwide when narrowed eligibility requirements take effect.<\/p>\n
So far, college officials said they do not know how many of their students will be affected.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re really worried about the number of students who could lose their Pell grant this coming year,\u201d said Amy Barnhart, director of Wright State University\u2019s Office of Financial Aid. \u201cIt\u2019s really hard to gauge at this point, because we haven\u2019t received guidance yet.\u201d<\/p>\n
