{"id":119681,"date":"2022-02-25T12:38:08","date_gmt":"2022-02-25T17:38:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=119681"},"modified":"2022-02-25T12:38:26","modified_gmt":"2022-02-25T17:38:26","slug":"wsuner-conference-social-justice-fair-to-draw-educators-students-to-learn-local","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2022\/02\/25\/wsuner-conference-social-justice-fair-to-draw-educators-students-to-learn-local\/","title":{"rendered":"WSUNER conference, Social Justice Fair to draw educators, students to &#8216;Learn Local&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_119697\" style=\"width: 470px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2022\/02\/25\/wsuner-conference-social-justice-fair-to-draw-educators-students-to-learn-local\/wsuner-2020-1-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-119697\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-119697\" class=\"size-large wp-image-119697\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2022\/02\/WSUNER-2020-1-508x339.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"307\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-119697\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Social Justice Fair takes place at 5 p.m. on March 4 in the Hangar, followed by the WSUNER Learn Local Conference on March 5 at 7:45 a.m. in Allyn Hall and the Hangar.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After holding the event virtually last year, the <a href=\"https:\/\/health-education-human-services.wright.edu\/wsuner-conference\">Wright State University Network for Educational Renewal (WSUNER) Learn Local Conference<\/a>, hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/health-education-human-services.wright.edu\/\">College of Health, Education and Human Services<\/a>, is back in person.<\/p>\n<p>Once again, the conference will partner with the Social Justice Fair to bring a two-day experience.<\/p>\n<p>Both the WSUNER Learn Local Conference and the Social Justice Fair focus on educators\u2019 outstanding work and the difference they make.<\/p>\n<p>The WSUNER Learn Local Conference will take place on Saturday, March 5, from 7:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in Allyn Hall and the Hangar.<\/p>\n<p>Registration for the Social Justice Fair will begin at 4:45 p.m. on Friday, March 4, in the Hangar.<\/p>\n<p>Registration for both events is free and open at <a href=\"http:\/\/wright.edu\/wsuner\">wright.edu\/wsuner<\/a>. Masks are required for both events.<\/p>\n<p>The WSUNER Learn Local Conference is expected to attract more than 200 local educators, administrators, organizations and Wright State community members. The conference will include a light breakfast, feature three breakout sessions, with a total of 31 topics to choose from, and will wrap up with awards and door prizes.<\/p>\n<p>Amy Elston, Ph.D., assistant director of the Office of Partnerships and Field Experiences and a lecturer in the <a href=\"https:\/\/health-education-human-services.wright.edu\/education-and-leadership\">School of Education and Leadership<\/a>, is excited about the energy of the conference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery year has been a wonderful opportunity for us to show gratitude to educators for the amazing work they do,\u201d Elston said. \u201cAlso, the sessions are outstanding.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Angela Johnson, Ph.D., professor of <a href=\"https:\/\/liberal-arts.wright.edu\/english-language-and-literatures\">English language and literatures<\/a>, and Elston are the co-coordinators of the Social Justice Fair, which was previously called the Language Arts Fair.
