{"id":121824,"date":"2022-04-04T12:45:51","date_gmt":"2022-04-04T16:45:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=121824"},"modified":"2022-04-05T09:30:54","modified_gmt":"2022-04-05T13:30:54","slug":"familiar-dance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2022\/04\/04\/familiar-dance\/","title":{"rendered":"Familiar dance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Returning to its successful pre-COVID format, <a href=\"https:\/\/events.dancemarathon.com\/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.event&amp;eventID=4742\">Wright State University\u2019s Raiderthon<\/a> will feature an in-person, 12-hour dance marathon to raise money for sick kids on Saturday, April 9, from noon to midnight in the Student Union Apollo Room on Wright State\u2019s Dayton Campus. The event is open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis event is loads of fun, but that\u2019s only part of it,\u201d said Gina Keucher, student activities program director. \u201cThe good that the money raised each year does for these kids and their families is incredibly impactful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the dance marathon, members of the Wright State Miracle Makers celebrate the culmination of their yearlong fundraising efforts with dancing, games, guest speakers and live entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/events.dancemarathon.com\/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.event&amp;eventID=4742\">raiderthon.org<\/a> to make a donation or register to attend. A donation of $10 is required to register, with all proceeds going directly to Dayton Children\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2013, Raiderthon has raised awareness and over $380,000 for Dayton Children\u2019s Hospital. This year\u2019s goal is to raise $55,000.<\/p>\n<p>Leading up to Raiderthon, fundraisers were held on campus throughout the year to support Dayton Children\u2019s Hospital, <a href=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2022\/03\/16\/taking-one-for-the-team\/\">including on March 14 (Pi Day)<\/a>, when Wright State Miracle Makers hosted Pi in the Face.
