{"id":122594,"date":"2022-04-12T14:04:59","date_gmt":"2022-04-12T18:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=122594"},"modified":"2022-04-12T14:04:59","modified_gmt":"2022-04-12T18:04:59","slug":"dancing-for-a-cause","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2022\/04\/12\/dancing-for-a-cause\/","title":{"rendered":"Dancing for a cause"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Returning to its successful pre-COVID format,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/events.dancemarathon.com\/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.event&amp;eventID=4742\">Wright State University\u2019s Raiderthon<\/a> hosted a 12-hour dance marathon to raise money for sick children on April 9 in the Student Union Apollo Room.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is what being a Raider is about,\u201d said Rennee Dollenmayer, a senior majoring in rehabilitation services and Raiderthon participant. \u201cIt\u2019s about doing things that are bigger than ourselves.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the dance marathon, members of the Wright State Miracle Makers celebrated the culmination of their yearlong fundraising efforts with dancing, games, guest speakers and live entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s marathon raised $32,153.46. Since 2013, Raiderthon has raised awareness and over $400,000 for Dayton Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Raiderthon was hosted by the Wright State Miracle Makers, a division of The Children\u2019s Miracle Network, which supports local children\u2019s hospitals.
