{"id":126142,"date":"2022-06-14T08:39:21","date_gmt":"2022-06-14T12:39:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=126142"},"modified":"2022-06-21T09:46:17","modified_gmt":"2022-06-21T13:46:17","slug":"engineering-and-computer-science-students-earn-dayton-workforce-partnership-scholarships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2022\/06\/14\/engineering-and-computer-science-students-earn-dayton-workforce-partnership-scholarships\/","title":{"rendered":"Engineering and Computer Science students earn Dayton Workforce Partnership scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-126154\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2022\/06\/Screen-Shot-2022-06-13-at-11.21.41-AM-260x204.png\" alt=\"College of Engineering and Computer Science logo\" width=\"260\" height=\"204\" \/>Dayton Workforce Partnerships (DWP) has announced its 2022 scholarship recipients, which include five students from Wright State University&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering-computer-science.wright.edu\/\">College of Engineering and Computer Science<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>DWP has partnered with Wright State and a large group of local industry-leading businesses for over a decade with the mission of retaining talent in the Dayton Region.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Rigling, Ph.D., dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science, said that the partnership with DWP has definitely been a boon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWright State has been fortunate to have DWP&#8217;s partnership over the years in recruiting and retaining local students and preparing them for careers with local employers. DWP identifies and recruits strong students, and we look forward to having them join us in the fall,&#8221; Rigling said.<\/p>\n<p>Ron Adler, vice president of Dayton Workforce Partnerships, said that scholarships are offered to college students enrolled in their partner two or four-year colleges as well as graduates from their partner high schools who enroll in one of their partner colleges.<\/p>\n<p>Adler said that the scholarships align with the workforce needs of their business partners in the areas of STEM, health care, business and manufacturing.
