{"id":134172,"date":"2023-01-11T11:19:37","date_gmt":"2023-01-11T16:19:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=134172"},"modified":"2023-01-11T11:29:34","modified_gmt":"2023-01-11T16:29:34","slug":"wright-state-musical-theatre-music-students-to-join-dayton-philharmonic-for-evening-of-sondheim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2023\/01\/11\/wright-state-musical-theatre-music-students-to-join-dayton-philharmonic-for-evening-of-sondheim\/","title":{"rendered":"Wright State musical theatre, music students to join Dayton Philharmonic for \u2018Evening of Sondheim\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2023\/01\/11\/wright-state-musical-theatre-music-students-to-join-dayton-philharmonic-for-evening-of-sondheim\/sondheim-graphic\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-134182\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-134182 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2023\/01\/Sondheim-graphic-508x286.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"259\" \/><\/a>Wright State University <a href=\"https:\/\/liberal-arts.wright.edu\/fine-and-performing-arts\/bachelor-of-fine-arts-in-acting-musical-theatre-concentration\">musical theatre<\/a> students will perform with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra at the Schuster Center during \u201cAn Evening of Sondheim.\u201d Students from Wright State\u2019s choral music program will also be a special part of the concert.<\/p>\n<p>Performances take place Friday, Jan. 20, and Saturday, Jan. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Schuster Center\u2019s Mead Theatre in downtown Dayton.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets can be purchased at <a href=\"https:\/\/daytonperformingarts.org\/ticket\/sondheim\/\">daytonperformingarts.org\/ticket\/sondheim<\/a> or by calling 937-228-3630.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAn Evening of Sondheim\u201d will feature junior and senior musical theatre majors and a combined <a href=\"https:\/\/liberal-arts.wright.edu\/fine-and-performing-arts\">School of Fine and Performing Arts<\/a> Chorale of more than 100 voices, directed by Nathan Nagir, D.M.A., director of choral studies at Wright State.<\/p>\n<p>The concert is conducted by Patrick Reynolds, associate conductor of the Dayton Philharmonic, with stage direction by Joe Deer, distinguished professor of musical theatre, and Greg Hellems, head of musical theatre, and musical preparation by F.
