{"id":135106,"date":"2023-02-16T11:22:32","date_gmt":"2023-02-16T16:22:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=135106"},"modified":"2023-05-09T14:52:47","modified_gmt":"2023-05-09T18:52:47","slug":"lights-camera-action-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2023\/02\/16\/lights-camera-action-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Lights, camera, action!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>A six-person camera crew from C-SPAN\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.c-span.org\/series\/?lecturesInHistory\">Lectures in History<\/a>\u201d visited Wright State University on Feb. 9, to record Paul Lockhart, Ph.D., professor of<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/liberal-arts.wright.edu\/humanities-and-cultural-studies\/bachelor-of-arts-in-history\">history<\/a>, as he taught his class The History of the Gun.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The lecture was recorded in 109 Oelman Hall with about two dozen students in attendance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve never been a part of anything like this before,\u201d said Justin Pennington, a social science education major who enjoyed sharing the experience with the camera crew.<\/p>\n<p>The lecture, titled \u201cFirearms and Warfare in the West to 1800,\u201d will air on C-SPAN later in spring semester.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cMost of the time I give a lecture if I don\u2019t like it, I\u2019ll forget about it.
