In the digital era, where in the movie business it\u2019s sometimes hard to tell the stars from the stand-ins, Wright State University\u2019s motion picture program has somehow still managed to separate itself.<\/p>\n
The Big Lens Film Festival \u2014 at 7:30 p.m. today at The Neon Movies in Dayton \u2014 marks the 20th time the university has celebrated its students\u2019 cinematic achievements, but the events of the past year make this edition feel even more like a red-carpet moment.<\/p>\n
A thumbs-up from actor Tom Hanks and recognition by the state will do that. Hanks did a promotional video last fall praising the program and its alumni and congratulating the school on its designation as a center of excellence in the arts by Ohio.<\/p>\n
