{"id":136319,"date":"2023-03-23T09:10:31","date_gmt":"2023-03-23T13:10:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=136319"},"modified":"2023-03-23T09:39:10","modified_gmt":"2023-03-23T13:39:10","slug":"getting-hyped","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2023\/03\/23\/getting-hyped\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting hyped"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(38, 38, 38)\"><span data-ogsb=\"white\">Wright State University students are getting hyped as they prepare for the 10th annual Raiderthon, the 12-hour dance marathon that raises funds for Dayton Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-ogsc=\"rgb(38, 38, 38)\"><span data-ogsb=\"white\">Raiderthon will take place on Saturday, April 1, from 11:30 a.m. to midnight in the Student Union Apollo Room.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Registration for Raiderthon is $10, which includes three meals, live entertainment and meet and greets with Miracle Network families. Those who cannot attend can support Raiderthon by making a donation on the <a href=\"https:\/\/events.dancemarathon.com\/index.cfm?fuseaction=donate.event&amp;eventID=5160\">Raiderthon website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Over a dozen morale captains who serve as hype team members have been working hard this semester to choreograph a dance that attendees will learn during the marathon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAll of us here whose part of the morale team just love to dance,\u201d said Emma Ginter, a sophomore nursing major. \u201cIt\u2019s a huge event that brings the entire campus together every year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Raiderthon is hosted by the Wright State Miracle Makers, a division of the Children\u2019s Miracle Network, which supports local children\u2019s hospitals. Children with chronic illnesses are often treated at Dayton Children\u2019s Hospital and require long hospital stays and challenging treatment regimens.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cDoing all of this for the children is the best thing about it,\u201d said Ginter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Since 2013, the Wright State Miracle Makers has raised more than $400,000 for Dayton Children\u2019s Hospital through Raiderthon.
