Public Health Careers 101 will include a panel discussion with Wright State Master of Public Health alumni.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Master of Public Health Program<\/a> in Wright State University\u2019s Boonshoft School of Medicine\u00a0will celebrate National Public Health Week with Public Health Careers 101 on Thursday, April 6, in the Gandhi Auditorium in White Hall.<\/p>\n

The career and networking event will explore the many career opportunities pursued by those working in public health. Attendees will also be able to connect with Wright State public health alumni, many of whom are leaders in Ohio, and learn about employment and internship opportunities.<\/p>\n

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a networking session and light refreshments, followed by a panel discussion at 6:15 p.m. Participants will also have time to speak with the panelists and other public health professionals attending the event.<\/p>\n

Attendees should register at wright.edu\/ph101<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Panelists include Wright State Master of Public Health graduates Erik Balster \u201910, health commissioner, Butler County Health Department; Matt Clayton \u201922, health commissioner, Springdale Health Department; Fabrice Juin \u201920, program manager, Miami Valley Regional Planning Commission Regional Equity Initiative; Roopsi Narayan \u201914, product owner, Premier Health; and Casey Smith \u201917, account and project manager, Ascend Innovations.<\/p>\n

Alexis Marrin, third-year medical student and M.P.H. candidate, will moderate the discussion.<\/p>\n

Representatives from other agencies, like Public Health \u2013 Dayton and Montgomery County, will participate in the networking session.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe format of the event is set up to increase awareness about the many different opportunities, both entry-level and advanced, in the profession, as well as give individuals ample opportunity to expand their professional network,\u201d said Marietta Orlowski, chair of the Department of Population and Public Health Sciences in the Boonshoft School of Medicine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Wright State\u2019s public health program is nationally accredited and provides flexible classes from diverse faculty and in collaboration with local public health leaders to prepare students with specialized skills like epidemiology and public health leadership. Students can earn an undergraduate and graduate degree, a minor or a certificate.<\/p>\n
