It was over in just a few minutes. More than 1,200 plastic Easter eggs filled with candy were completely swept up by almost 200 excited preschoolers at Mini University, a Wright State University Child Development Center on the Dayton Campus.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt went really well,\u201d said Britney Leavelle, executive director of Mini University. \u201cA lot of planning for a short amount of time, but it was all worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Several Wright State University police officers, including Ben Schaefer, stuffed the eggs and then hid them on the Mini U playground.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the type of environment that I would like my son to grow up in,\u201d said Schaefer.<\/p>\n
This was the first time Mini U and Wright State\u2019s Department of Public Safety<\/a> collaborated on an Easter egg hunt. Both hope the event will continue.<\/p>\n Kurt Holden, director of public safety at Wright State, said the egg hunt was a great opportunity for the department to build relationships with little Raiders at Mini University and their parents.<\/p>\n \u201cThey are actually seeing the very thing that we love to do and why we chose to do this job,\u201d said Holden. \u201cSo, people can come out here and have an egg hunt and feel safe and have fun, and that\u2019s because of the work we do.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Mini U preschool students hunt for Easter eggs provided by Wright State\u2019s Department of Public Safety.
