{"id":139874,"date":"2023-07-26T09:14:41","date_gmt":"2023-07-26T13:14:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=139874"},"modified":"2024-12-12T10:31:14","modified_gmt":"2024-12-12T15:31:14","slug":"premier-partnership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2023\/07\/26\/premier-partnership\/","title":{"rendered":"Premier partnership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">In partnership with Premier Health, <a href=\"https:\/\/health-education-human-services.wright.edu\/\">Wright State University\u2019s College of Health, Education and Human Services<\/a> hosted a summer camp for high school juniors and seniors interested in pursuing nursing in college.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt\u2019s a great way to test the waters,\u201d said Diego Martinez, a junior at Tecumseh High School who participated in the camp.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The camp is one example of how Wright State and Premier Health are working to build a pipeline of skilled nurses in the Dayton region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe know that there\u2019s a nursing shortage, and that\u2019s predicted to increase in the years to come,\u201d said Marty Sexton, Ph.D., professor of <a href=\"https:\/\/health-education-human-services.wright.edu\/nursing\">nursing<\/a> and associate dean of the College of Health, Education and Human Services. \u201cWe are hopeful to build the nursing workforce by engaging students early on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wright State hosted the camp on July 18 to July 20.
