{"id":140257,"date":"2023-08-14T10:47:40","date_gmt":"2023-08-14T14:47:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=140257"},"modified":"2023-08-14T10:47:40","modified_gmt":"2023-08-14T14:47:40","slug":"wright-state-to-host-american-association-of-colleges-and-universities-educator-author-for-student-success-symposium","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2023\/08\/14\/wright-state-to-host-american-association-of-colleges-and-universities-educator-author-for-student-success-symposium\/","title":{"rendered":"Wright State to host American Association of Colleges and Universities educator, author for student success symposium"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_140269\" style=\"width: 270px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2023\/08\/14\/wright-state-to-host-american-association-of-colleges-and-universities-educator-author-for-student-success-symposium\/mcnair_tia\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-140269\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-140269\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-140269\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2023\/08\/McNair_Tia-260x260.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-140269\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tia Brown McNair, a vice president of the American Association of Colleges and Universities, will give a keynote address on \u201cBecoming a Student Ready College\u201d at the Teaching for Student Success Symposium.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In its ongoing effort to learn and adapt to best serve its students, Wright State University will host Tia Brown McNair, Ph.D., an American Association of Colleges and Universities educator, administrator and author, for a campus symposium later this month.<\/p>\n<p>The Center for Faculty Excellence will host McNair for the annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wright.edu\/center-for-faculty-excellence\/workshops\">Teaching for Student Success Symposium<\/a> on the Dayton Campus Thursday, Aug. 24.<\/p>\n<p>The symposium will provide participants from across the university with information, motivation and new ways to think about teaching Wright State students as faculty and staff prepare for a new semester.<\/p>\n<p>Registration information and details about the symposium and breakout sessions are available at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wright.edu\/center-for-faculty-excellence\/workshops\">wright.edu\/center-for-faculty-excellence\/workshops<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHelping our students achieve success both in the classroom and after they\u2019ve graduated is our top priority,\u201d said Wright State Provost Amy Thompson, Ph.D. \u201cWe must challenge ourselves to continuously learn and adapt to their shifting needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McNair, a vice president with the American Association of Colleges and Universities in Washington, D.C., will give the keynote address and offer two breakout sessions as part of the symposium\u2019s nine workshops.<\/p>\n<p>One session will involve university administrators from the President\u2019s and Provost\u2019s councils.
