{"id":144567,"date":"2023-12-13T09:24:12","date_gmt":"2023-12-13T14:24:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=144567"},"modified":"2023-12-13T09:24:26","modified_gmt":"2023-12-13T14:24:26","slug":"a-fantastic-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2023\/12\/13\/a-fantastic-day\/","title":{"rendered":"A fantastic day"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>For the fifth consecutive year, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wright.edu\/public-safety\/police\">Wright State University Police Department<\/a> participated in No-Shave November in a fundraising effort that benefited the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wright.edu\/student-affairs\/resources-and-support\/raider-food-pantry\">Raider Food Pantry<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>On Dec. 11, officers filled their police cruisers with items purchased from Sam\u2019s Club in Beavercreek, then donated to the pantry almost $2,000 worth of nonperishable goods, including chicken noodle soup, beef stew, cereal, peanut butter crackers and much-needed bottled water.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>\u201cThis year we had the entire department involved,\u201d said Kurt Holden, director of public safety. \u201cAnswering the need in our community is what we do.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Every officer and staff member in the Police Department participated by donating $100 with an option to grow their facial hair during November.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Over the last three years, the department has donated over $11,000 in groceries and money to the Raider Food Pantry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>The Raider Food Pantry serves around 100 Wright State students a month.
