Kayla Metz\u2019s passion for helping others inspired her to pursue a degree in human resource management at Wright State.<\/p><\/div>\n

Kayla Metz wants to make a career of helping others.<\/p>\n

Metz is a student worker in the Wright State University Raj Soin College of Business, serves on the college\u2019s Dean\u2019s Student Advisory Board and is the president of the Human Resources Club.<\/p>\n

Metz\u2019s passion for helping others led her to pursue a degree in human resource management<\/a> At Wright State.<\/p>\n

While she was in high school, she learned about the field from human resources professionals, which helped set her on her future career path.<\/p>\n

\u201cI consider myself to be a leader. HR professionals must lead their employees by example, and take initiative in the workplace,\u201d Metz said. \u201cI believe I have the ability to achieve these goals with my education from Wright State.\u201d<\/p>\n

Metz said she enjoys getting to know people and developing working relationships.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy ideal job would be to take the pathway of either recruitment or compensation,\u201d said Metz.<\/p>\n

She started seriously considering Wright State after visiting the Dayton Campus while she was in high school.<\/p>\n

\u201cWright State immediately felt like home,\u201d she said. \u201cI experienced so much outreach from faculty, staff and students who made me feel welcome, and I knew that they would become like a second family to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said the support she receives from her Wright State professors will enable her to succeed now and in the future.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is comforting to know I can count on the people at Wright State to help, support and guide me to success through my college education and experience,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Metz holds two jobs in the Raj Soin College of Business. She works as a student office assistant in the Dean\u2019s Office, where she assists students with advising appointments and other office work. She also serves as a student ambassador, representing the college at events both on and off campus and serving as a spokesperson for the college.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth of these jobs have been extremely exciting for me, as I truly enjoy the staff and faculty that work in the Raj Soin College of Business,\u201d Metz said. \u201cEveryone has been extremely supportive of my goals and has made me feel welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n

Metz is involved in several organizations at Wright State, but the most impactful one for her is the Dean\u2019s Student Advisory Board. Along with working to improve the College of Business for generations of students to come, Metz said the board enables her to connect with her peers and alumni mentors.<\/p>\n

The student advisory board held a few events during the Fall Semester that enabled business students to connect to help them build relationships.<\/p>\n

Metz encourages other business students to network with each other and Wright State faculty, staff and alumni.<\/p>\n
