For Lexi Ricker, a senior <a href=\"https:\/\/science-math.wright.edu\/psychology\">majoring in psychology<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/health-education-human-services.wright.edu\/leadership-studies-in-education-and-organizations\/bachelor-of-science-in-organizational-leadership\">organizational leadership<\/a> at Wright State University, it can be absolutely exhausting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cNo grass grows under Lexi\u2019s feet that\u2019s for sure,\u201d said Debbie Lamp, associate director of student activities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ricker, who also <a href=\"https:\/\/liberal-arts.wright.edu\/social-sciences-and-international-studies\/minor-in-forensic-studies\">minors in forensic studies<\/a>, maintains a high GPA while participating in six campus organizations: University Activities Board (UAB) president, Panhellenic Council vice president and vice president of recruitment, Student Involvement and Leadership Center involvement mentor, Alpha Omicron PI sorority member, \u201967 Society president and Psychology Club secretary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ricker was also named the 2024 Homecoming queen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cNot in a million years did I think I would actually win,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ricker has helped organize some of the university\u2019s biggest student events as UAB president, including last year\u2019s April Craze and Fall Fest. She also organized Winter Fest in February and is working on the details for April Craze on April 19, 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cShe\u2019s in the top 10% of the students I\u2019ve been involved with on campus,\u201d said Lamp. \u201cShe is definitely the definition of Raider up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">With a full class schedule and her campus commitments, Ricker has also found the time and energy to work part-time as an overnight 911 dispatcher at the Englewood Police Department for the past two years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt just makes life so much more rewarding,\u201d said Ricker.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Englewood police Sgt. Mike Lang said Ricker has an important job as a 911 dispatcher, answering police and fire calls for several neighboring communities and always stays enthusiastic and focused.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cIt\u2019s funny when someone gets in the door and gets the public service bug. It\u2019s hard to shake it,\u201d Lang said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ricker is expected to graduate from Wright State in December and hopes to join the police academy in January to train to become a police officer.
