Wright State University\u2019s Raiderthon hosted a 12-hour dance marathon to raise money for sick children on March 23 in the Student Union Apollo Room.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year we have nearly 200 participants registered at the event,\u201d said Ashley Greene, a junior organizational studies major and Raiderthon president. \u201cIt\u2019s really a great opportunity for students to come together and support Dayton Children\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the dance marathon, members of the Wright State Miracle Makers celebrated the culmination of their yearlong fundraising efforts with dancing, food, games, Jell-O wrestling, guest speakers and live entertainment.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s marathon raised $50,128. Since 2013, Raiderthon has raised awareness and almost $500,000 for Dayton Children\u2019s Hospital.<\/p>\n
All proceeds from Raiderthon go toward a fund at Dayton Children\u2019s Hospital that helps families pay their hospital bills and for meals. Funds also support a new mental health facility expected to open at Dayton Children\u2019s in 2025.<\/p>\n
Raiderthon was hosted by the Wright State Miracle Makers, a division of The Children\u2019s Miracle Network, which supports local children\u2019s hospitals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
