Former Wright State University outfielder Peyton Burdick, who the Cincinnati Reds claimed off waivers\u00a0in April, hit the longest home run in baseball \u2014 at any level \u2014 this season on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Burdick\u2019s home run for the Triple-A Louisville Bats measured 500 feet. It\u2019s also the longest home run in Louisville Slugger Field.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The home run to right-center field in the seventh inning hit the scoreboard and helped the Bats beat the Toledo Mud Hens 7-5. The home run had an exit velocity of 114.8 miles per hour and a launch angle of 25 degrees.<\/p>\n

As a member of the Wright State baseball team, Burdick was the Horizon League Player of the Year in 2019 when he hit.407 with 15 home runs and 72 RBIs in 59 games.<\/p>\n
