{"id":151451,"date":"2024-07-03T11:34:47","date_gmt":"2024-07-03T15:34:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=151451"},"modified":"2024-07-03T11:34:47","modified_gmt":"2024-07-03T15:34:47","slug":"wright-state-emergency-medicine-residents-practice-search-and-rescue-techniques-to-understand-patient-experiences","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2024\/07\/03\/wright-state-emergency-medicine-residents-practice-search-and-rescue-techniques-to-understand-patient-experiences\/","title":{"rendered":"Wright State emergency medicine residents practice search and rescue techniques to understand patient experiences"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">About two dozen <a href=\"https:\/\/medicine.wright.edu\/emergency-medicine\/residency-program\">emergency medicine residents<\/a> from Wright State University and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base participated in a hands-on outdoor learning experience to give them an appreciation for the work first responders do before a patient arrives at a hospital.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe are kind of going back to our roots, and learning how to use a map and locate everything is a useful skill to have,\u201d said Amir Mansour, M.D., a third-year resident who will wrap up his residency in a few weeks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The residents were divided into two groups and completed various tasks throughout the day on June 18.
