This classic play, which is in its fifth Broadway run, envelops audiences in the places and faces of Grover\u2019s Corners, holding up a mirror to all of humanity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur Town\u201d is the \u201cperfect way to start your fall theatre season,\u201d said Cordes, who will direct the play.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cCarrie: The Musical,\u201d Oct. 31\u2013Nov. 17, Festival Playhouse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Wright State Theatre will celebrate Halloween with \u201cCarrie: The Musical,\u201d which is inspired by the Stephen King novel of the same name. This cautionary tale about teenagers and high school cruelty is a thrilling theatrical experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCarrie: The Musical\u201d is directed by Jamie Cordes, senior lecturer in acting, with music direction by Matt Ebright, a staff member in the School of Fine and Performing Arts, and guest choreography by Jennifer Sydor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe Apple Tree,\u201d Nov. 15\u201324, Herbst Theatre<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Apple Tree\u201d is a witty, tuneful and charming show comprised of three musical miniatures: \u201cThe Diary of Adam and Eve,\u201d \u201cThe Lady or the Tiger?\u201d and \u201cPassionella.\u201d Wright State\u2019s production is guest directed and choreographed by Leslie Goddard-Baum and with music direction by Wade Russo, instructor and musical director in the theatre program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cMuch Ado About Nothing,\u201d Feb. 14\u201323, 2025, Festival Playhouse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>William Shakespeare\u2019s comedy \u201cMuch Ado About Nothing\u201d is full of trickery, mistaken identity, witty banter and romance. \u201cMuch Ado About Nothing\u201d is directed by Josh Aaron McCabe, associate professor and head of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cEverybody,\u201d Feb. 21\u2013March 2, Herbst Theatre<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Branden Jacobs-Jenkins&#8217; modern adaptation of \u201cEveryman,\u201d a 15th century morality play, centers on the meaning of living. At each performance, the actors&#8217; roles are selected by lottery, requiring each actor to know and perform all the roles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEverybody\u201d is guest directed by Gregory Mallios, adjunct instructor and a Wright State acting graduate.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cAlice By Heart,\u201d March 14\u201330, Festival Playhouse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlice By Heart,\u201d a touching musical inspired by \u201cAlice\u2019s Adventures in Wonderland,\u201d celebrates the transformational power of the imagination, even in the harshest of times. The new musical was created by the Tony and Grammy Award\u2013winning creators of \u201cSpring Awakening.\u201d \u201cAlice By Heart\u201d is directed and choreographed by Greg Hellems, professor and head of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre program, with music direction by Wade Russo, instructor and musical director in the theatre program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Spring Dance Concert, April 24\u201327, Festival Playhouse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Wright State University Dance Ensemble will offer a varied evening of dance with its annual Spring Dance Concert.
