The Foodbank organized a mass food distribution at the Wright State University Nutter Center on Aug. 29, attracting more than a 1,000 households and distributing thousands of pounds of food.<\/p>\n
Over 100 volunteers from CareSource, SICSA, Imagination Library and Wright State distributed fresh produce, proteins, grains and pet food.<\/p>\n
\u201cPet food is also being impacted by the high cost of items,\u201d said Lee Truesdale, chief development officer at The Foodbank.<\/p>\n
The Foodbank distribution began just before 10 a.m. and lasted past 1 p.m. with 1,297 families being served during the over three-hour event.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are giving back to the community today, which is what Wright State is all about,\u201d said Jim Click, custodial services manager at Wright State, who volunteered at distribution.<\/p>\n
