So it\u2019s not like they remember the recession. But what they do experience and have experienced was sort of a tightening of the belts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>They saw their parents lose jobs. Maybe downsize their homes. And Seemiller said everyone told them, \u201cDon\u2019t worry! Life-changing economic events don\u2019t happen that often.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd then COVID comes along,\u201d she said.\u00a0And along with it? Inflation.<\/p>\n<p>Seemiller said this lifetime of unpredictability has made Gen Zers risk-averse.
