Whether it\u2019s academics or athletics, student scholarships or student success initiatives, every gift makes a difference in the life of a Wright State student.<\/p>\n<p>To make a gift on the Wright Day to Give, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/wdtg2024\">https:\/\/bit.ly\/wdtg2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Raegan Steele, a neuroscience and physiology major, is grateful for the support that donors provide on the Wright Day to Give and throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWright State has not only prepared me academically, but it has also given me opportunities and skills to better myself for the future,\u201d said Steele. \u201cThat supportive environment and those amazing experiences would not have been possible without the help of our alumni and donors. They truly are dream makers for students like me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For computer science major Aiden Cox, gifts from donors helped provide the financial support he needed to pursue a college degree.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cComing to college, I knew it would be a financial burden to get the education I needed. Thanks to the alumni and donors of Wright State \u2014 and the scholarship I received because of their generosity \u2014 that weight has been lifted off my shoulders,\u201d said Cox. \u201cI was shocked that people would invest in my future, and I am forever grateful for their support to allow me to grow and succeed while I\u2019m in college.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?attachment_id=154282\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-154282\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-154282\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2024\/09\/Wright-Day-to-Give-Graphic-1-508x348.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a>This year\u2019s Wright Day to Give will launch with an official kickoff event on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Wright State alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and friends are welcome to stop by the Wandering Griffin, 3725 Presidential Drive, anytime between 5:30 and 8 p.m. Wright State University President Sue Edwards and other special guest bartenders will be serving drinks. Guests will be able to enjoy an appetizer buffet, receive a commemorative Wright Day to Give pint glass and have the opportunity to win a variety of raffle prizes.<\/p>\n<p>Donors are invited to \u201cGive Back to the Pack\u201d to help Wright State reach its goal of 1,100 donors. A variety of challenges and incentives will be offered to encourage participation, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>College Alumni Participation Challenge: <\/strong>When alumni make a donation to any fund that they are passionate about, the college they graduated from will receive credit toward the College Alumni Challenge. The college with the most alumni gifts (regardless of where the gift is designated) will earn $5,000 for their college,\u00a0thanks to a gift from Anna and John Monnett.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Donor Unlock: The <\/strong>Wright State University Foundation Board of Trustees will unlock a $30,000 gift as soon as 1,100 donors have made gifts on the Wright Day to Give.<\/li>\n<li><strong>First-Time Donor Incentive: <\/strong>First-time donors who make a minimum gift of $19.67 will receive a Wright State University-branded pennant as a special token of appreciation.
