Jane Wildermuth has been appointed university librarian at Wright State.<\/p><\/div>\n

Jane Wildermuth, who has worked in the Wright State University Libraries<\/a> for 25 years, has been appointed university librarian effective Oct. 1.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince March, Jane Wildermuth has skillfully overseen the University Libraries\u2019 daily operations as interim university librarian, displaying the managerial skills and vision to serve Wright State University, our libraries and students,\u201d said Provost Amy Thompson, Ph.D.<\/p>\n

As the university librarian, Wildermuth will work with library staff and the administration to reimagine the University Libraries by developing strategic and master plans and reorganizing library services, staff and spaces to transform Dunbar Library into a hub of student activity and success.<\/p>\n

She will also oversee renovation projects on the first floor of Dunbar Library and the Special Collections and Archives.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese changes will take hard work, but in the end, we will position the University Libraries to move forward to be a library of the future, serving our students and the Wright State community well,\u201d Wildermuth said.<\/p>\n

In 2020, Wildermuth was named the head of the University Libraries’ Special Collections and Archives<\/a>, overseeing Wright State\u2019s world-class historical collections, digitization projects for the libraries and Wright State, and CORE Scholar, which hosts scholarly works by Wright State faculty, staff and students as well as local, regional and university heritage materials.<\/p>\n

She joined the University Libraries in 1999 as an archivist in Special Collections and Archives. In 2006, she created and served as the head of Digital Initiatives and Repository Services.<\/p>\n

During her tenure at Wright State, Wildermuth has been active in the archives and the institutional repository communities and has served as president and treasurer of the Society of Ohio Archivists.<\/p>\n

As chair of the OhioLINK Digital Resource Management Committee, she worked with library professionals throughout the state to develop standards and practices for institutional repositories.<\/p>\n

In 2019, she was honored for distinguished service by the Academic Library Association of Ohio when she received a TEDDY Award from the association\u2019s Technical Electronic and Digital Services Interest Group.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
