Is Wright State ready for semsters? Yes we are!<\/p><\/div>\n

The 2012\u201313 academic year kicked off in style August 27 as hundreds of faculty, staff and students from the Wright State community packed the Student Union atrium for some free food and Raider revelry.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the kickoff to the academic year. We have a bunch of new students joining us on campus and plenty of returning students too,\u201d said Interim Provost Thomas Sudkamp. \u201cIt\u2019s always great to see the Student Union packed with students and buzzing with activity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lake campus leadership celebrated the official switch to semesters with a tasty sheet cake of their own.<\/p><\/div>\n

Not just buzzing, but clapping\u2014as in plastic clappers. The noisemakers were distributed before the event and hard to ignore during moments of applause.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe start of the academic year is always exciting. Of course, it\u2019s also the culmination of four years of coordinating for the quarters to semesters system,\u201d said Herb Dregalla, semester conversion director. \u201cStudents starting their college careers today at Wright State will be the first to graduate having taken all of their classes in the semester system.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\t\t
