{"id":157266,"date":"2025-03-06T15:32:57","date_gmt":"2025-03-06T20:32:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=157266"},"modified":"2025-03-06T15:32:57","modified_gmt":"2025-03-06T20:32:57","slug":"calorie-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2025\/03\/06\/calorie-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Calorie competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Starting March 3, Wright State University students, employees and partners kicked off the annual Spring Food Drive competition to support the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wright.edu\/student-affairs\/resources-and-support\/raider-food-pantry\">Raider Food Pantry<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Throughout March, 13 offices and organizations will compete by collecting different food items each week to stock the pantry\u2019s shelves.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOur mission is to best serve Wright State students,\u201d said Tylar O\u2019Neal-White, advocate and case manager in the Office of Student Counseling and Wellness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">O\u2019Neal-White said the timing of the drive is perfect. Food items are beginning to run low following a generous donation from Wright State Police Department last fall.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThe officers definitely helped us over the fall semester and through wintertime, but now our supply is dwindling again,\u201d said O\u2019Neal White.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Defending champ Wright-Patt Credit Union has led the competition for the past five years, donating the most items each year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cOur partners here at the member center love being involved every year and they love participating,\u201d said Garrett Young, community development specialist at Wright-Patt Credit Union. \u201cIt\u2019s really great to see how we can make a difference on campus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">While the competition is already underway, it\u2019s not too late to get involved.
