{"id":158224,"date":"2025-04-07T14:32:58","date_gmt":"2025-04-07T18:32:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=158224"},"modified":"2025-04-08T09:04:44","modified_gmt":"2025-04-08T13:04:44","slug":"wright-states-artsgala-celebrates-the-transformative-power-of-art","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2025\/04\/07\/wright-states-artsgala-celebrates-the-transformative-power-of-art\/","title":{"rendered":"Wright State&#8217;s ArtsGala celebrates the transformative power of art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wright State University\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wright.edu\/artsgala\">ArtsGala<\/a>, one of the Dayton region\u2019s most festive and unique arts events, returned to the Creative Arts Center on April 5 with an impressive program featuring student performances in theatre, dance, motion pictures, music and visual arts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">ArtsGala celebrated its 26th year with many special events designed to commemorate the occasion, including several hundred student performers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The symbol of this year\u2019s ArtsGala was a jade butterfly, representing transformation. As a theme, it embodies how \u201cArtsGala transforms the lives of our students and how their education is transforming them,\u201d said Rebecca Foley, art gallery and events coordinator in Wright State\u2019s College of Liberal Arts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThis is the most exciting arts event in the Dayton region,\u201d said Gary Schmidt, Ph.D., dean of the <a href=\"https:\/\/liberal-arts.wright.edu\/\">College of Liberal Arts<\/a>. \u201cOur students are really talented.
