{"id":159916,"date":"2025-07-07T08:30:08","date_gmt":"2025-07-07T12:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=159916"},"modified":"2025-07-03T09:08:45","modified_gmt":"2025-07-03T13:08:45","slug":"profitable-pitch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2025\/07\/07\/profitable-pitch\/","title":{"rendered":"Profitable pitch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">When Peyton Hoff graduated from Wright State University with a <a href=\"https:\/\/business.wright.edu\/supply-chain-management-marketing-and-management\/bachelor-of-science-in-business-entrepreneurship-major\">bachelor\u2019s degree in entrepreneurship<\/a> in 2023, he had more than just a diploma in hand.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">About a month before graduation, he won Wright Venture, the annual competition hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/business.wright.edu\">Raj Soin College of Business<\/a>, taking home $6,000 in prize money.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hoff used those funds to launch Absolute Roofing Services, dedicating most of the money to advertising and marketing efforts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Two years later, his business is thriving, and he has set a goal to double his revenue each year. He also plans to hire additional sales representatives in the near future and expand into more commercial construction projects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The company has already grown beyond its original scope. Hoff has expanded his services to include siding, gutters and full exterior remodel services and recently added a drone to his toolbox to help with difficult roof inspections.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI like taking something that needs some work and making it something beautiful,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hoff credits the Wright Venture competition for motivating him to create a business plan and launch his company.
