{"id":16250,"date":"2012-09-25T08:00:17","date_gmt":"2012-09-25T12:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=16250"},"modified":"2015-03-06T09:18:18","modified_gmt":"2015-03-06T14:18:18","slug":"orthopaedic-symposium-to-focus-on-musculoskeletal-care","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2012\/09\/25\/orthopaedic-symposium-to-focus-on-musculoskeletal-care\/","title":{"rendered":"Orthopaedic symposium to focus on musculoskeletal care"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Medicine &amp; Rehabilitation, in conjunction with Wright State Physicians Orthopaedics &amp; Sports Medicine, is hosting a symposium, \u201cCurrent Concepts in Musculoskeletal Care,\u201d on Friday, Oct. 26, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Wright State University.<\/p>\n<p>The symposium will be held in the Berry Room at the Wright State University Nutter Center. Registration and a continental breakfast will be at 7:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided for registered attendees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis course will offer all members of the medical and recovery teams information on caring for a wide range of musculoskeletal patients,\u201d said Richard Laughlin, M.D., professor and chair. \u201cWe are inviting all surgeons, physicians, nurses, athletic trainers, physician assistants, family practitioners, residents, medical students and coaches to the symposium.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gregory L. Stover, D.O., serves as symposium co-chair with Laughlin. The symposium will address evidence-based treatment options for the musculoskeletal patient; the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment options for musculoskeletal disorders; conditions and prevalent diagnoses that affect patients at specific life stages; factors affecting these diagnoses along with prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and new and emerging technologies for the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders and abnormalities.<\/p>\n<p>This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of Wright State University and Wright State Physicians, Inc.
