Hopkins. \u201cI can promise you that we will put this money to good use.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI see two women over there who I know will make it happen,\u201d he said pointing to Linda Ramey, Ph.D., associated director of Wright State\u2019s Office of Sustainability, and Cathy Sayer, Ph.D., the university\u2019s director of service-learning and civic engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Ramey said the university plans to use the gift as seed money to leverage funds for Extending Sustainability Projects.<\/p>\n<p>The Extending Sustainability Projects have a major impact on campus in partnership with the campus community to increase outreach to support sustainable programs, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0A challenge grant to increase the number of recycling containers on campus<\/li>\n<li>Expansion of the Campus Community Gardens<\/li>\n<li>Creation of a sustainability internship<\/li>\n<li>Funding student studies for implementation of Green Action Plans<\/li>\n<li>Provide transportation to school partnership sites for community service-learning tutors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div id=\"attachment_16399\" style=\"width: 270px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2012\/10\/04\/wright-state-wins-25000-for-sustainability-efforts\/ramey1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-16399\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-16399\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-16399\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2012\/10\/Ramey1-260x204.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of people walking on campus.\" width=\"260\" height=\"204\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-16399\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Linda Ramey, Ph.D., (far right) led the visiting on a tour of campus to showcase the university&#039;s green programs.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Prior to the check presentation, Ramey led executives from National Office Furniture on a tour of the university\u2019s Dayton campus, pointing out such green initiatives as the Campus Community Garden, new recycling containers and the solar thermal panels on the roof of the Student Union.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were very excited to have such a great winner this year,\u201d said Kevin McCoy, National Office Furniture\u2019s general manager and vice president of National\u2019s parent company, Kimball International. \u201cIt was wonderful to see your campus, to see the vibrant community you have here and to hear about the plans you have for the <em>Gift of Inspiration<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>National Office Furniture began its <em>Gift of Inspiration<\/em> program in 2009 to provide opportunities for educators and health care providers to enrich lives and communities. The program awards financial gifts that may be used for technology needs, scholarships, training and development programs, or facility enhancements.
