The Veteran Student Champion program extends the university’s culture of support by training faculty, staff and students to better understand and serve military-connected learners.

“Our goal is to meet the needs of military-connected students and ensure they feel supported,” Gordon said. “The VMC is built on trust and a genuine sense of belonging. We work every day to be military friendly in both designation and practice.”

Wright State also provides a range of services to military-affiliated students, including:

Flexible scheduling and online learning options

Credit for prior military training and experience

Priority registration

For students pursuing military commissions, the university is home to the Army ROTC Raider Battalion and Air Force ROTC Detachment 643.

The Military Friend Silver Award adds to Wright State’s growing list of distinction.

In 2025, the university was named a Best for Vets College by the Military Times, designated a Collegiate Purple Star campus by the Ohio Department of Higher Education, and the VMC earned an Excellence in Programming for Military-Connected Students Award from the National Veterans Leadership Foundation.

Learn more

For more information about resources for military-connected students at Wright State:
Contact: Veteran and Military Center, 937-775-5550 or vmc@wright.edu
Visit: wright.edu/veteran-and-military-center

Wright State University was once again recognized for its commitment to military-connected students and their families with a Military Friendly School Silver ranking for 2026–2027. Continue reading →

[722,729,2048,725,2039,715,4829

post-164617","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-academics","category-around-campus","category-enrollment-management","category-home-news-sidebar","category-military-veterans","category-news","category-rankings
["GET
