{"id":165410,"date":"2026-04-29T14:46:29","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T18:46:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=165410"},"modified":"2026-04-30T10:04:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-30T14:04:09","slug":"a-path-shaped-by-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2026\/04\/29\/a-path-shaped-by-service\/","title":{"rendered":"A path shaped by service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As students at <a href=\"https:\/\/lake.wright.edu\/\">Wright State University\u2013Lake Campus<\/a> celebrate graduation, alumnus Mitch Eiting \u201909 will return with a message shaped by decades of service, leadership and a commitment to helping others along the way.<\/p>\n<p>From production and shipping to human resources and corporate philanthropy, Eiting has built a career defined by service at Midmark Corporation in Versailles \u2014 a message he will share at the Lake Campus commencement ceremony on Thursday, April 30, at 5:30 p.m. at Shankel Auditorium at Cross Oak Camp in St. Marys, Ohio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the end, success is not just about the title you hold,\u201d Eiting said. \u201cIt is about whether people are better because you were there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eiting will be honored as the 2026 Lake Campus Outstanding Alumnus Award, which recognizes both his professional accomplishments and commitment to community service.<\/p>\n<p>Eiting was working full-time while raising a family when his manager encouraged him to complete his bachelor\u2019s degree at Lake Campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the time, it just felt like good advice. Looking back, I see it set me on a path that shaped my future in ways I didn\u2019t expect,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He credits the Lake Campus faculty for teaching him to apply his education to real-world work situations<\/p>\n<p>At Lake Campus, Eiting found more than a degree \u2014 he found faculty who knew his name, challenged him and believed in him, along with classmates who were also balancing responsibilities with coursework.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I found a campus that understood that some of the most determined students do not come here on a straight path,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_165419\" style=\"width: 470px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2026\/04\/29\/a-path-shaped-by-service\/260324_4160_mb_mitcheiting__web\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-165419\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-165419\" class=\"wp-image-165419 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2026\/04\/260324_4160_mb_MitchEiting__web-508x339.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"307\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-165419\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mitch Eiting, the 2026 Lake Campus Outstanding Alumnus who manages global philanthropy and corporate giving at Midmark Corporation, will deliver the Lake Campus spring commencement address. (Photo by Mike Burianek \/ Video by Kris Sproles)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Those relationships stayed with him long after graduation, shaping the way he leads, works with others and encourages family, friends and colleagues today.<\/p>\n<p>That sense of connection didn\u2019t end with graduation.
