Kasi Edwards \u201996 has her own take on that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a big believer in what you do when no one else is watching,\u201d she said, \u201creally challenging yourself and holding yourself accountable to do the hard, hard work and the things that nobody else is going to see. Only you can kind of answer to yourself on that. And that\u2019s been a driving factor in who I am. I have very high standards for myself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Edwards, the executive vice president of strategy and corporate development at Kettering-based Reynolds and Reynolds, was honored with the <a href=\"https:\/\/business.wright.edu\/\">Raj Soin College of Business<\/a> 2026 Outstanding Alumna Award. The award recognizes former Wright State students who have made exceptional contributions to their professions while giving back to their community.<\/p>\n<p>During her nearly 28-year career with Reynolds and Reynolds, a company that develops software for automotive retailers, she\u2019s delivered results in sales, marketing, operations and product management.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;ve done a ton of different things,\u201d Edwards said. \u201cI started in introductory marketing roles, then transformed into product and new business development roles. I spent a number of years in our sales organization, carrying a bag and selling our products across multiple states.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After overseeing the company\u2019s marketing department for 13 years, Edwards was named to her current role in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>She said that through hard work, opportunities presented themselves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been really blessed to have a lot of good mentors and career coaches throughout my journey here that have helped me navigate and get to the next steps,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_166064\" style=\"width: 470px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2026\/06\/01\/holding-herself-to-high-standards\/evoto-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-166064\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-166064\" class=\"size-large wp-image-166064\" src=\"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2026\/06\/Kasi-Edwards-2025-2-Evoto__web2-508x339.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"307\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-166064\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Kasi Edwards \u201996 says the broad business perspective she gained through Wright State\u2019s MBA program helped propel her career from a series of leadership roles to executive vice president of strategy and corporate development at Reynolds and Reynolds.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The next step for Edwards was more education and training, which she found in Wright State\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/business.wright.edu\/master-of-business-administration\">Master of Business Administration (MBA) program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most impactful parts of Edwards\u2019 MBA experience was the program\u2019s strong entrepreneurial focus. Through developing a business concept, writing a business plan and learning how every part of an organization works together, the experience provided her with a deep understanding of business from every angle.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWright State\u2019s MBA program has positively influenced my career,\u201d Edwards said. \u201cIt makes a difference in your career when you\u2019re up for jobs and up for promotions. The experiential learning that I was able to get at Wright State really helped me as I grew in my career at each and every next step.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Wright State connection is also helpful to students and alumni who want to join Reynolds and Reynolds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Reynolds, when we\u2019re looking to hire associates, Wright State\u2019s a really big positive on a resume,\u201d Edwards said. \u201cThe work ethic is always there.
