Wright State University\u2013Lake Campus<\/a> welcomed more than 160 community members, alumni and supporters to campus for the second annual Lake Campus Wine Festival \u2014 with some even arriving by boat and utilizing the campus docks, highlighting the unique relationship between campus and the community it serves.<\/p>\n The June 12 event featured local beverages, food vendors and live music for an evening of camaraderie and community spirit along the shores of Grand Lake St. Marys.<\/p>\n Hosted in partnership with the Wright State Alumni Association<\/a>, the festival celebrates Lake Campus\u2019s dual role as both an educational institution and a community gathering place, providing an opportunity to bolster relationships among those on campus, alumni and community members.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Wine Festival is about more than wine \u2014 it\u2019s about bringing people together, engaging with Lake Campus and reinforcing our role as a community resource and gathering place for the region,\u201d said Samantha Johnson, director of campus engagement and events.<\/p>\n Attendees enjoyed selections from Vineyard at Evergreen Farm, GR8 Vines Winery, A.R. Winery, Dragonfly Vineyard & Wine Cellar and Bokes Creek Winery, along with craft beer from Old Route 69 Brewery. Paired with live music by local musician Adam Stall and local food offerings, the event delivered a welcoming atmosphere throughout the evening.<\/p>\n Local organizations, such as the Western Ohio Educational Foundation (WOEF) and participating wineries, donated giveaways and raffle items, including tickets to the Governor\u2019s Cup Regatta. WOEF also sponsored water and snacks for attendees.<\/p>\n Lake Campus Athletics<\/a> participated in the event with a 50\/50 raffle, adding another opportunity for guests to engage with Wright State.<\/p>\n The festival provided an opportunity for guests to engage with campus and see its variety of community resources.<\/p><\/div>\n \u201cAs we continue investing in campus spaces \u2014 from upgrades to the outdoor amphitheater to improvements that enhance the community \u2014 we are creating opportunities for people to engage with Lake Campus in meaningful ways throughout the year,\u201d Johnson said. \u201cWe want the community to know that we\u2019re here for them as a resource and are committed to creating spaces where we can all build relationships and feel welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n Lake Campus offers a variety of amenities and opportunities for the community, including reserving conference rooms<\/a>, dining at the Boathouse, attending events and enjoying the beach and outdoor walking trails.<\/p>\n The Lake Campus Wine Festival has continued to grow each year and reflects the university\u2019s commitment to community engagement beyond the classroom.
