More than 50 high school students from across Ohio learned how to turn business ideas into reality during the first Ohio Business Week camp hosted at Wright State University from June 21-26.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Students lived in Wright State residence halls throughout the week, gaining a firsthand look at college life while strengthening essential leadership skills, including communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and confidence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

During the camp, students heard from accomplished business leaders, including Larry Connor, founder and managing partner of The Connor Group, who shared insights from his entrepreneurial journey and encouraged students to pursue ambitious goals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s such a privilege, and I\u2019m so happy I get to hear from these voices,\u201d said Brihanna Howell, a senior at Miami Valley School.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

For many students, the opportunity to learn directly from successful entrepreneurs left a lasting impression.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI just feel incredibly inspired,\u201d said Mikir Clifton, a senior at Olentangy Orange High School. \u201cFor me to say I\u2019ve shook a billionaire\u2019s hand and I\u2019ve taken notes from a billionaire, it puts me above the curve.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ron Nischwitz coached the Wright State baseball team from 1975 to 2004.<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ohio Business Week was founded in 1989 by former Wright State baseball coach and Major League Baseball pitcher Ron Nischwitz, who was inspired by a student leadership program in Washington state. Determined to bring a similar experience to Ohio, Nischwitz partnered with business leaders and community organizations to launch the first Ohio Business Week camp at Ashland University. Since then, the program has helped thousands of high school students prepare for careers in business, including the 53 students who attended this year\u2019s camp at Wright State.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
