{"id":17695,"date":"2012-11-27T14:46:05","date_gmt":"2012-11-27T18:46:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=17695"},"modified":"2022-09-27T11:20:55","modified_gmt":"2022-09-27T15:20:55","slug":"globetrotting-diplomat-to-speak-at-wright-state-nov-28","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2012\/11\/27\/globetrotting-diplomat-to-speak-at-wright-state-nov-28\/","title":{"rendered":"Globetrotting diplomat visits Wright State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wright State alumnus Morgan O\u2019Brien will return to campus Wednesday, Nov. 28, to speak to students about his career as an American diplomat.<\/p>\n<p>His address, \u201cFrom Dayton to Diplomacy: Working in the U.S. Foreign Service,\u201d will be held at 3 p.m. in 401 Millett Hall on Wright State\u2019s Dayton campus.<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Brien received his M.A. in international and comparative politics from Wright State in 2007.\u00a0 He has served as a foreign service officer for the United States since June 2009.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMorgan is a great example of commitment, perseverance and dedication to something larger than himself,\u201d\u00a0said Laura Luehrmann, Ph.D., director of Wright State\u2019s International and Comparative Politics Program. \u201cTo think that he is the face of the U.S. government for citizens around the world\u2014it\u2019s great to know that Wright State played a small role in helping to make that happen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Brien served his first foreign service tour with the late ambassador Richard C.
